Emergency maintenance core switch BIT-1

Due to identified errors on an interface on our core switch in BIT-1 we will have emergency maintenance on August 15th between 0:00 and 4:00 hours. The number of identified errors is currently very low, but we will perform this maintenance urgently to prevent bigger problems
During this maintenance the wiring of the relevant interface will be replaced and the optics will be cleaned or replaced if necessary. That interface transports internet traffic between BIT-1, Ede and Telecity 2 in Amsterdam. During the maintenance this connection will be interrupted. Traffic on this path will be diverted via other paths, so we expect no disruptions to client connections.

This maintenance was completed without any unforeseen problems.
