EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE on colocation switch in BIT-2C
On Wednesday, March 11th, we will perform emergency maintenance on a colocation switch in BIT-2C between 0.00h and 2.00h. During this maintenance two blades to which customers are connected will be reset. As a result we expect connections of custommers connected to this switch to be disrupted for a few minutes.
These blade resets are needed because of a failure in the self diagnostic modules. Self diagnostics are used to detect problems, so the current problem does not affect traffic, but it may be harder to detect possible problems.
We want to point ot that not just customer equipment in BIT-2C is connected to this switch. Customer equipment in BIT-2A and BIT-2B may be connected as well for redundancy purposes. You can check if you are connected to these blades on this switch by checking if 'uplink to GigabitEthernet4/<number>@rbfs1.bit-2c' or 'uplink to GigabitEthernet7/<number>@rbfs1.bit-2c' is specified on your invoice.
This maintenance partially overlaps with already announced maintenance on Meetme racks in BIT-2C. We will take care that redundant paths will not be disconnected at the same time.
If you have any questions regarding this maintenance, please contact the Customer Care department by phone on +31 (0)318 648 688 or by email on support@bit.nl.
Update 0.08h:
This maintenance was completed, connectivity for customers connected to these blades was disrupted for approximately 30 seconds.
